This layered painting captures a quiet, introspective moment through the symbolic image of a broken mirror. Created on a 3mm MDF panel with tempera, oil, and acrylic, it employs Old Masters techniques—subtle sfumato, translucent glazes, and delicate brushwork—to build light and depth. The world surrounding the mirror is rendered in still, monochrome tones, while the reflection glows with unexpected color. This contrast evokes a dialogue between perception and essence, surface and soul. Part of the ongoing series “Mirrors and Reflections”, the piece invites the viewer to look beyond appearances and notice how color often lives in the unseen.
