The Gentile Weight of Mortality
In this painting, I was drawn to the contrast between the softness of blankets and the unyielding hardness of a skull. One speaks of comfort and shelter, the other of silence and finality. Placed together, they hold a reminder of how fleeting life is — everything has its moment of warmth, and then its time passes.
