Thorns

The Galapagos Islands are famous for the incredible variety of wildlife you can experience up close. However, the islands—most of which are volcanic—do not boast a vast diversity of vegetation, consisting mainly of cacti like the one in this photo. Its vibrant green color, the small 'crown' at its tip, and its sharp needles made me take a (brief) break from the animals
