Nicotine Dreams transforms a familiar childhood icon into a portrait of quiet collapse. Cropped tightly and stripped of narrative context, the image focuses on ritual, exhaustion, and emotional escape rather than nostalgia. The cigarette becomes less an act of rebellion and more a symbol of repetition — a small habit masking emptiness, fatigue, and disconnection. Through heavy texture, minimal composition, and exaggerated stillness, the work explores the darker side of comfort, identity, and the slow erosion hidden beneath performance and familiarity.

Muriel Elmaleh is a contemporary artist whose work moves between abstract expression, dark pop imagery, and emotionally charged symbolism. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, she explores themes of identity, nostalgia, emotional tension, and modern psychological survival through color, gesture, distortion, and contrast.
