Orange Rooftops
A painting capturing a cluster of tightly packed buildings with rooftops painted in vivid shades of orange. The rooftops form repeating geometric patterns, creating a sense of rhythm and symmetry across the canvas. Between the buildings, patches of greenery peek through The green contrasts sharply with the warm oranges, breaking the rigid geometry with organic, flowing shapes. The overall effect is a visual dance between man-made order and natural randomness. The rooftops establish structure and pattern, while the greenery introduces irregularity, reflecting the geometric patterns found in nature, subtly harmonizing with the structured urban scene.

Leah Raab
My work reflects paradoxes of everyday life. What is not always apparent or clearly visible is lurking beneath the surface. I focus on scenes that are familiar and significant to me that reflect internal tensions in a seemingly tranquil landscape. I alternate between painting my environment in the United States and of Israel, using brushstroke and color to evoke a mood or feeling enveloping me in each setting.
