הדיוקן העצמי הזה מציג אותי במעיל הכחול-אולטראמרין האהוב עלי, לצד קומקום שעבר בירושה במשפחתנו — מתנה מאמי לסבתי שנקנתה במשכורת הראשונה שלה. הציור נבנה לאורך כמה מפגשים, ובכל זאת ביקשתי לשמר את הרעננות והישירות של גישת alla prima, תוך הוספת עומק עם כל שכבה, כמו שכבות של זיכרון. היצירה מזמינה את הצופה אל רגע אינטימי ושקט, המשלב היסטוריה אישית עם עושרו של שמן על עץ.
